Sony Vaio Update

Well finally a post about my time with the Sony Vaio:

The Sony Vaio is a nice machine but I did not care for the Windows Vista and the problems that went along with it which included a clean install of the the Windows Vista , after uninstalling all the bloatware that came with it, the machine started to act funny and would have random freeze ups, so after I reinstalled from a clean Windows Vista disk I had laying around, I then had to install all the Vaio only items to get the card reader to work and of course had to install a video drive that was for the vaio only, I was unable to use the plain Nividia driver. All in all if you are looking for a decent machine with decent specs, and you want a Windows Machine this one might fit your bill if you are can deal with the drawbacks. I think there is better choices in the market . Overall Rating I give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Sony Vaio

After I looked around for a new Laptop, I tryed out serveral and have to say the Sony Vaio came out on top , you see I ordered a Dell but after looking at the price and the specs I found out that I could do better then the 1800 bucks that they wanted. So I thought hey I own a few Macs maybe I should try the Macbook, so I ordered it and was excited when it arrived only to find that I was not happy on how they laid out the machine, all the ports are located on the left side, how stupid is that ? I use a usb mouse and I am right handed, so that was the first announce, then I looked at the proformance and was not that impressed the small screen was bright and pretty but alittle smaller then I thought I would like to use, another thing that I did not like was the cheap feeling plastic that the machine presented, it well felt cheap ! So I went hunting for a Microsoft Vista  laptop and found the Sony Vaio, FZ340E/B. this machine is a very nice machine, it feels solid and it fast, the only complaint is that I have to spend alittle time taking some of the Trailware off, and installing Antivirus, but other then those small things it isa great machine, I can recommend one of these if you are looking for a new one, will give you more of a updrate as I work with the machine.

If you are looking for a place other to buy Music from then iTunes, I might suggest you look at the Amazon Music Store. It supports Mac Windows and Linux OS ! Way to go Amazon.. Check them out.

Linux Reality Podcast ending at 100

I am sad to say that Chess is ending his excellent Linux Podcast at 100. I highly recommend that you check it out, he has stated that he will be keeping the site and forums and feeds live alot of great info, in those shows, so check it out

PCLinuxOS

I have been trying out Different Linux Distros…. And I have to say I have found one that works great ! PCLinuxos ! It is either KDE or Gnome Based you can install other Window Managers. I have installed this on my Laptop and it runs great, If you are looking for a new Linux to try I recommend this one !
